Missing chassis tubes

It seems someone cut off some tubes or rails from the chassis that are supposed to strengthen the rear part of the car. The rails go out under the gas tank. I'm looking for someone who can either verify or falsify if these rails are supposed to be there. The rails are sketched into these two pictures:
